Acadia National Park – Sand Beach

As you might guess from the name, Sand Beach is one of the few places in Acadia where the coastline is more sandy than rocky. It’s also one of the few places where swimming is allowed, which means this is an extremely popular place. Typically, a glance in the parking lot is enough of an indicator of how busy the beach is…considering the parking lot is one of the bigger ones in the park…


It’s still a great place to visit, but consider visiting when most people wouldn’t. The shot above was taken just after sun set, & the beach was mostly vacant. Perfect for the last few moments of Golden Hour!
